Long waiting

I ordered the Snowman in August 2010 from Toveks Bil in Skövde through the dealer Tobias. I did this after driving around for more than half a year in large parts of southwestern Sweden to be able to test drive all available combinations of engines and gearboxes. I had hoped that Volkswagen Group decided to equip the Snowman with the "1.6 TDI CR 105HK" diesel engine and the automatic gearbox "DSG7" because then my choice had been obvious. Now, I instead had to look for a sensible compromise. I really hope that I have found it, and that after several months of driving experience my final choice of engine and transmission will feel as well as it did during test driving sessions.

My choice of engine and gearbox fell on the small turbocharged gasoline engine "1.2 TSI 105HK" and the automatic transmission "DSG7". This election has become a very long wait for delivery when the automatic transmission seems to be a desirable but rare prey within the Volkswagen Group (Audi/Seat/Skoda/VW/...). The first preliminary announcement date indicated delivery in mid-December 2010. This changed quickly to early-January 2011.

Now, at last the dealer has been delivered the Snowman from the Czech Republic and we are at the beginning of February 2011. Next week, February 8, I will finally get my Skoda Yeti.
